Historic Biltmore Hotel Tower Restoration - Coral Gables, Fl. Completed

Rebuild / restore the towers above the hotel from 217' to over 300' above ground level. Heavy structural concrete and steel repair and replacement. Very extensive historical detail restoration of concrete moldings, capitals, dentinal and cornices. Upon completion of the structural repairs, heavy waterproofing will take place in order to protect the suites located directly below the towers.

The steel from the 273' level up, is being replaced due to extensive corrosion.

We have brought a copper craftsman from Europe to help in the restoration of the 5 copper domes on the tower.

The project is spread out over 5 levels of the towers. Project Superintendents Tray Butler and Jeff Barrett are running one of the best crews assembled

This project has been nominated for a national restoration award.

A semi backed into the building causing very extensive structural damage. The building was shored up to prevent collapse and columns, beams and pre-cast panels were replaced or repaired.

The tower took a heavy hit from severe lightning. The foundation is shattered from the lightning strike. The existing foundation is being epoxy injected and then a new reinforced skirt is being poured around it.

A gasoline tanker truck came off the overhead bridge, plummeted 80' and exploded under the lower bridge. Millions of dollars in damage occurred because of the intense fire. Over 10,000 sf of concrete is being replaced or repaired. We have not needed to close the traffic at all. This project will finish 7 weeks ahead of Dot's schedule.
